Heather Reid, 73, passed away after a lengthy illness in the Hôpital de St. Georges on November 27, 2023. Heather was born June 21, 1950 in Thetford Mines. She was the daughter of Everett and Alma (Davidson) Reid and was raised on the family farm in St. Jacques de Leeds. Although something of a traveller as a young person, Heather returned to Leeds and spent her adult life in the surrounding area. Heather always loved a party, and when the band was playing, she loved to dance. She enjoyed her cats and was often seen with her Mot Caché.
Heather was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers Graydon and Andrew. She will be mourned by her brother Hugh, and her sisters Flora McNaul, Florence Lafleur (Raymond) and Eileen Courey (David) as well as 12 nieces and nephews and 26 great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at the community center, 400 Rue Lowry, Kinnear’s Mills, on Monday, Dec. 4 between 7 and 9 pm. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, December 5 at 10:30 AM in Candlish United Church, Kinnear’s Mills, with Rev. Terry Blizzard officiating.
The family expresses profound gratitude to the caregivers at the CHSLD de Beauce who for several years looked after Heather so well.
